My Alfred neck is knitted from the bottom up in the front, then from the top down on the back. Stitches are decreased for the neck opening along the way, and finally stitches are picked up and a rib is knitted. The neck consists of 4 different structure patterns that are repeated front and back, with a border in between to mark the transitions, and a frame of moss stitch around the entire neck. The different structure patterns make the neck elastic, so it fits well.
Sizes:S/M (L/XL) Width measured across shoulders:30 (34) cm Length from shoulder to chest/back:36 (38) cm Needle size:Small circular needle 3 and 3.5 mm (UK 10 and 11 / US 3 and 4) Gauge:22 sts per 10 cm in stocking stitch on 3.5 mm (UK 10 / US 4) needles Recommended yarn and consumption:100 g Sandnes Garn Sunday or other fingering yarn is knitted together with 50 g Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair or other lace yarn in both sizes
